Culture: Final Piece

<< This was my final piece for the unit.
I had to produce a painting (using either acrylic or watercolours), which needed to include something I am fond of; for example a childhood possesion, an element related to the artist Grayson Perry and relationship with my chosen culture.

I decided to lay out my composition in the illusion of 3 sheets of paper spread out and over lapping one another. This idea emerged from my passion of reading books.

I decided to add a portrait of myself to my composition as in this specific photograph I was wearing Indian clothing; therefore it relates to my chosen culture and it obviously relates to myself.

I printed the photo in black and white in order to distrinctively see the shaddow, as well as printing it in colour to determine what coloured paint I would need to use.

As I would be painting, I didn't add a lot of detail to the drawing.

On the left of my portrait I drew a tatty teddy bear, which was my 15th birthday present from a close friend.
